At the South African Agri-Academy, a range of training courses are offered on a regular basis. These include:

Export Training:

  1.  Export Readiness: 
The export readiness training course is a sector-focused distance learning course for the producer who plans to start exporting. Participants develop and action plan that addresses produciton, marketing and financial steps to ensure export readiness of the business. The target group for this training includes role players in the secotr who plan to start with exports or who would like to develop their export activities. Participants will be trained by experts in the field of Agriculture and the outcome associated with this course is the development of a marketing plan.
To be sekected as a participant of the Export Readiness Training, applicants need to meet the following criteria:
  • small medium sized business
  • established local business with existing clientele
  • plan to export or exported once or twice before
  • participants must be citizens of the Republic of South Africa
  • an average of between R500 000 and R1 000 000 p.a.
Some of the topics to be included in the training are the international market, production factors, quality issues, transport, costing model and many more.
Global Competitiveness:
Based on the Business Management System (BMS) model developed by the World Trade Organisation/International Trade Centre (WTO/ITC), this course assists the exporter in drawing up a strategic plan per market by completing various produciton, marketing and financial tasks.
Trade and Distribution Channels
This course focuses on the unique ways in which the exporter can communicate with potential importers. The course material includes a CD which enables the participant to generate export documentation at the stand when attending a trade show.
