Strong partnerships, within a network of experts and contacts, contribute to the successful implementation of the SA Agri Academy (SAAA)’ skills programmes. The Market Development Program (MDP) focus on capacity building of financial, life, management, marketing and technical skills of emerging agri businesses. Experts assist SAAA’s registered assessors and facilitators in the presentation of above MDP. These experts are representatives of SAAA’s local and international partners. Training at the Academy is based on theory and practise. Theoretical classroom sessions are followed by practical industry visits. Through this, method best practises are illustrated for implementation by participants in their own businesses.  

 In a Nutshell:
•    SAAA is an Article 21 non-profit company with PBO status
•    SAAA is an accredited AgriSETA service provider (ACCSET – TSP 0000003)
•    SAAA base its training on a market driven value chain
•    Programs are offered to individual businesses or product clusters
•    The target group is emerging farmers looking for sustainable markets

Above training is supported by two Flagship programs:
1.     AgriMatch  - successfully trained agri businesses are introduced to potential national and international
buyers and partners.
2.     Agri Appi – an international internship program for the youth in the agricultural sector. A two year local and international program whereby “Agri Appi’s” are being exposed, through practical training, to all the components of the value chain of a specific product. The outcome of this program is the opportunity to work within a business or to start a new business as an Agri Entrepreneur.
